29th March 2015: After much tooing and frooing between a couple of houses, finally decided on the Simonds Stanten. We paid our initial $1500 deposit, made changes to the plan to suit our needs and signed New Home Order with an amazing Sales Consultant, Tania!
10th April 2015: Land titled!
10th April 2015: Received phone call from our Customer Relationship Co-ordinator (CRC), Leticia setting up our Gallery appointment and Contract signing date.
16th April 2015: Called Leticia to see about widening the garage right out to the fence
line, closing in the front lounge and having a single door entry to the room and widening the window in the dining room looking out the backyard. Leticia to call back with pricing.
27th April 2015: Gallery appointment - colour selections.
11th May 2015: Had to cancel our contract signing as whole family was sick.
25th May 2015: Contract signed. Completed variations to change the colour of the white. Extended the garage another 800m, tile to the ceiling behind the rangehood, bulkheads above top kitchen cupboards, increase bathroom shower to 900x1200 tiled, relocate back garden tap and add in one power point.
The third panel lift garage door has vanished from the contract and the plans (despite been in every previous version). Initially tried to charge us $1200 to put it back in. Arguments back and forward, and eventually they conceded that the cost was already included, the item had just been left out.
19th June 2015: All paperwork and finance documents finalised. Received copy of final plans. File moved to "construction".
20th June 2015: Site cut!
29th June 2015: Met our site supervisor - really happy with how things are going so far!
2nd July 2015: Slab down
6th July 2015: Ground floor frame up.
